Big industry bogie hearth furnace

  • product details
  • STA standard bogie hearth furnace goes up to 1100°C, 1400, 1700 deg C, however we make custom designed furnaces for any special requirements.

Characteristics and advantages of bogie hearth furnace:

One- or two-door design possible Bogie on rails, electrically driven

Support frame made of refractory material or heat resistant steel

    Gas- or electrically heated

Approved labyrinth sealing system between furnace and bogie

Efficient ceramic fibre insulation for low energy consumption and a fast heating up process

Standard Applications of bogie hearth furnace:

Annealing, Stress Relieving, Hardening, Tempering, Normalising, Post Weld Heat Treatment, Wire Annealing, Case Hardening, Blueing, Austempering, Austenitizing, Homogenizing, Billet Heating, Pre-Sintering, Sintering, Mould/Core Heating, Preheating/Preheating for forging

The bogie hearth furnace is made up of a main structure base for heating very large parts (such as: metal structures, heavy mechanical parts, connectors, flanges and curves, etc) or pieces in bulk that cannot be treated with other types of furnaces.

Bogie hearth furnace are often used for annealing, normalizing, tempering and solution annealing of large parts or welded constructions.

The bogie hearth furnace is constituted of an insulated stationary structure, electrically heated or gas fired by a mobile base (bogie), which carries the material to be treated. The bogie moves into the furnace by means of rails, racks or metal cables controlled by a gear motor.

Special constructions are possible. Double bogie hearth furnace with double doors are usually used to reduce the loading and unloading downtimes.

High temperature furnace applications are sintering, hardening, annealing and normalizing whereas low temperature applications are tempering and stress relieving.

The control system is provided with options to set and control the ramping rate, soaking rate and cooling rate depending on the process cycle, the option of PLC based control is also available.

Designs of industry furnace are usually in and out bogie (hearth) movement as well as through and through double door bogie movement is provided for an assembly line or process line.

Based on customer requirement, the mode of heating is via electrical heaters, gas fired or oil fired burners.

These high temperature furnace are energy efficient and it is achieved by efficient sealing to prevent undue heat losses and thyristor power controls to limit current consumption.

Design factors also ensure excellent temperature uniformity throughout the heating chamber so that parts are universally and evenly which are subjected to process parameters and heating cycles.

Controlled cooling furnace option is also available.
