U type Heater MoSi2 heating elements

Molybdenum disilicide MoSi2 heating elements are available in a variety of shapes as straight or bent MoSi2 elements in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Max temperature of MoSi2 heater is 1900 deg C.

  • Molybdenum disilicide MoSi2 heating elements are available in a variety of shapes as straight or bent MoSi2 elements in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Max temperature of MoSi2 heater is 1900 deg C. The most commonly used design is a two-shank "U"-shaped element. The heating zone is welded to terminals which normally have a diameter double that of the heating zone. The two-shank element can be bent 45° or 90° either in the heating zone or in the terminals. MoSi2 elements also have stable resistance, which allows new and old elements to be connected in series. Fast thermal cycling is possible without element degradation, and the elements are relatively easy to change while the furnace is hot. MoSi2 heating elements also offer the longest inherent life of all electric heating elements.

     

    We also provide special designed MoSi2 heating elements according to customer requirement. For the special MoSi2 heater, please provide the detailed drawing and size of MoSi2 elements to us.

    Unique Properties of MoSi2 heating elements

    MoSi2 heater may be used up to a surface temperature of 1800ºC in oxidizing atmospheres.

    Long service life and ease of replacement contribute to high furnace utilization and low maintenance costs.

    New and old elements can be used together and in series.

    Can dissipate high power loading.

    Can be used continuously or intermittently.

    Provide rapid furnace temperature ramping.
